Each year 12.7 million people around the world will be diagnosed with one disease. A disease that has more than 200 different variations and has a common name that is known by all - cancer. It is a monstrous disease that has caused many people to battle for their lives and even caused some to lose theirs.
In response to this, Leon High School wants your help in joining the fight against cancer. Our student body has held this annual fundraiser for the past ten years and has raised over $224,300 in doing so. This money has not only benefited hundreds of local lives and their efforts to fight this terrible disease, but it has also increased student awareness and involvement within our community.
This fundraiser is dedicated to family members, administration, and even our peers, who face incredible circumstances everyday and prove their tests of strength to the student body. Without the help of this community, not only would the monetary amount not be possible, but the investments of students’ hearts and souls in such a worthy cause would not be attainable.
This year, our goal is $25,000. With that amount, we can sponsor a pharmacy at TMH’s Cancer Center. As we work toward this goal, and beyond, we are hoping to call upon you to contribute to and support our fundraiser that is taking place from September 24th - October 11th. Our poker run and festival at the TMH Cancer will be October 6th. The final total will be revealed to the student body at the pep rally on October 11th. Can we count on you? The Tallahassee Community has always lived up to the challenge when it comes to helping others, please help us make this year the best one yet!
